The best part about queries is that you can save and run the same query again and again.  If you want the user to enter a different set of criteria each time you run the query, you will need to use a Parameter Query.

Parameter queries prompt the user to enter their search criteria when the query is run.  To create a parameter query, you need to type in a search question in the criteria for the field you are going to search.  The search question needs to be inside a set of square brackets [ and ].

If we wanted the user to type in a city to search for, we could use [Type in the city to search for] .
