Here is an example of a NOT Gate being used in the real world ...
NOT Gates are used in heating systems to decide if the heating needs to be switched on or off.

A NOT Gate is also called an Inverter because the output is always the opposite of the input. It only has one input (Input A) and one output (Output Y).
It reverses (or Inverts) the logic state. We can write a simple equation for a Not Gate like this ... Y = NOT A.
If the input to a NOT Gate is TRUE, the output will be FALSE.
If the input to a NOT Gate is FALSE, the output will be TRUE.
